About The Position

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company with over 100 years of history, operating as one of the world's largest woven textile mills. They specialize in designing and manufacturing residential and contract-grade fabrics for a diverse clientele including furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and major retailers. The Final Inspection Clerk role involves managing the return authorization process, evaluating and disposing of returned products, documenting findings, managing inventory, maintaining records, and collaborating effectively with various departments involved in the return process. This position also includes responsibilities for regrading and post-inspecting fabric when required.

Requirements

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Computer literate and familiar with SAP.
  • Post-Inspection experience.
  • The ability to work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile return authorizations.
  • Evaluate and dispose of returns.
  • Report findings to the Post-Inspection Department Manager.
  • Place goods in unassigned stock.
  • Maintain files and spreadsheets.
  • Interact positively with all departments involved in the return process.
  • Regrade and Post-Inspect when needed.
  • Process all returns in a timely manner and determine the disposition of product (seconds, unassigned stock, stock back to customer, or imports).
  • Evaluate all returns to verify yards returned, correct, and the valid reason for return.
  • Work with the quality group to make corrections and give feedback on returns.
  • Maintain spreadsheets with information on the disposition of returns.
  • Work with Customer Service on getting new sales orders for “Stock Back To Customer Returns”.
  • Sort returns to be sent to appropriate parties – Circa, Perkins, Finishing.
  • Regrade as needed and fill in as lead regrader when necessary.
  • Post-inspect fabric as needed.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to complete the job assignment or as directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
  • Report all job-related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
  • Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
  • Maintain 5S standards.
