About The Position

This role is responsible for the daily operation of powered industrial trucks or other material handling equipment, and the daily use of a handheld RF scanner. The associate will use good judgment to comply with instructions or prescribed routines, methods, or practices involving minor decisions. Regular participation in special tasks such as 6S is also expected. Key responsibilities include performing various functions related to shipping, receiving, and storage of parts, materials, and products. This involves preparing parts and materials for shipment, verifying quantities, packing, and loading trucks. It also includes receiving shipments, unloading trucks, checking for completeness and damage, recording shipments, and moving materials to storage. The role requires avoiding damage to equipment and product due to carelessness, negligence, or improper handling. A constant safety mindset is necessary to prevent injury to others, as accidents could result in partially incapacitating injuries or severe health hazards. The associate is responsible for their own work.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse or related environment
  • Valid OSHA certification for powered industrial trucks (e.g., Order Picker, Reach Truck, Sit Down).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions.
  • Proficiency in English (reading and writing).

Nice To Haves

  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Extensive experience with powered industrial trucks (e.g. Order Picker, Reach Truck, Sit Down)
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP a plus)
  • Additional certifications or experience with advance warehouse systems.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices or lean methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Daily operation of powered industrial trucks or other material handling equipment.
  • Daily use of hand held RF scanner.
  • Daily use of good judgement to comply with instructions or prescribed routines, methods, or practices involving the making of minor decisions.
  • Regular participation in special tasks as assigned such as 6S.
  • Perform a variety of functions involved with shipping, receiving, storage of parts, materials, and products.
  • Prepare parts and materials for shipments. Verify materials and quantities. Pack materials. Load trucks.
  • Receive shipments. Unload trucks. Check shipments for completeness and damage. Record shipments and compile necessary paperwork. Move material to proper area for storage.
  • Avoiding damage to equipment or process due to mistake or carelessness, including damage to machines, tools, supplies, devices, apparatus and solutions.
  • Avoid damage to materials, product or installation. Damage may be caused by negligent inspection or testing, wastage of materials, or damage caused by improper installation.
  • Constant safety mindset necessary to prevent injury to others, due to inherent hazards. An accident, should it occur, would result in injuries of a partially incapacitating nature such as loss of a limb or eye, or severe health hazard.
