About The Position

The Warehouse Associate performs warehouse duties involving large, heavy-weight stock, including counting, sorting, and recording inventory. The role works in a quality- and controlled-material environment and handles receiving-dock operations, order picking and packing, and dock processing. The position is 100% onsite at the K2 site, 3158 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., North Chicago, IL 60064. Several schedules are listed: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m., or Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.; Monday–Wednesday, 5:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., Thursday, 5:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m., and Friday, 5:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m.; or Monday–Wednesday, 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Thursday, 10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., and Friday, 11:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. The posting describes the role as a 12-month contract with a possible extension. New hires must complete the employer’s forklift training before using equipment, which may take six or more months.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in previous roles, with a strong work history.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Attention to detail, reliability, initiative, and a safety-focused approach.
Ability to work in hot and cold environments and in a loud, fast-paced environment.
Ability to reach, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift 50 pounds constantly.
Steel-toe shoes are required in the warehouse.
Must complete the employer’s forklift training before being allowed to use equipment; training may take six or more months.

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification or experience is a plus, including cherry pickers, order pickers, pacer/dock stockers, turret trucks, or stand-up forklifts.
Distribution experience is a plus.
Third-party logistics (3PL) experience is a plus.
