About The Position

Apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to the work order specifications using advanced machinery or having an advanced level of skill in the use of warehouse machinery. Ensure that processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition. Maintain processing area in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Complete all required information entry accurately. Perform any other tasks as assigned. This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery. This position has been identified as “safety sensitive” by thyssenkrupp under applicable laws. Accordingly, any application for this position that is considered for employment with thyssenkrupp requires successful completion of pre-employment drug testing, which may include testing for marijuana in accordance with any applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements

High school diploma / GED
1 to 2 years machine operation experience
Ability to read and write
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
Perform basic math skills
Use of handheld measuring tools
Safety Mindset.

Nice To Haves

Previous warehouse experience - especially in the metals industry
Previous forklift experience
Computer literate

Responsibilities

Perform sorting, stacking, cleaning, washing, stocking and inspection of cartons, pallets, or parts as assigned to support the operation.
Assist in filling and packaging orders and completing paperwork according to instructions.
Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move/deliver stock
Assist machine operators with a variety of functions as required to support the operation.
Perform general clean-up activities.
Maintain all equipment in working condition; report issues or breakdowns to Supervisor or Lead immediately.
Train others when required.
Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements.
