About The Position

Metropolitan Warehouse is hiring full-time Warehouse Associates to load and unload packages and furniture in a fast-paced environment. The role includes sorting packages by hand, scanning, staging, wrapping, helping maintain inventory, and performing other warehouse duties as needed. Associates must operate warehouse equipment safely and may work varying shifts based on package volume and business needs. The position involves frequent physical activity, including handling heavy furniture and repetitive tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with heavy furniture.
• Reliable attendance.
• Attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work past scheduled quitting time when needed to complete the job.
• Detailed record keeping.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to push and pull wheeled carts or pallet jacks loaded with merchandise.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently.
• Physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate small parts or delicate items precisely.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to address urgent operational needs.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of previous warehouse experience is desired.
• Experience working with furniture is preferred.
• Previous forklift certification or experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload packages, boxes, and furniture.
• Sort packages of varying sizes and weights by hand, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, staging, and wrapping.
• Assist in verifying inventory quantities and maintaining inventory levels.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
