Reporting to the Location Manager, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting the materials management function of the logistics department and indirectly supporting the overall sales function. Warehouse Associates are essential to the overall operation of the business. While specific daily tasks can vary depending on the company, a warehouse associate’s main responsibility is ensuring that all stock is accounted for, processed, and organized to meet company standards.

Requirements

  • Entry level work experience
  • Ability to use standard office equipment including computerized bar code scanners, printers, and standard warehouse equipment, tools, machines, and vehicles
  • Basic math and reasoning skills
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Good verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and through the direction of a Supervisor or Lead Warehouse Associate
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to request assistance when appropriate, especially when lifting heavy objects
  • Ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, pull, and push during entire work shift
  • Ability to climb stair/step ladders up to 16 steps

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification is a plus
  • Previous experience driving a van or truck

Responsibilities

  • Perform defined warehouse activities specific to the receipt, placement into inventory, selection for shipment, and shipment of stock
  • Pick orders accurately and promptly
  • Pack orders
  • Receive inventory accurately and promptly
  • Restock inventory in designated storage areas
  • Safely and accurately cut designated lengths of wire using wire take-up machines
  • Load and unload trucks according to established procedures
  • Participate in safety initiatives as assigned
  • Accurately identify and count inventory in assigned areas
  • Maintain quality and quantity performance and production standards
  • Learn how to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, etc.
  • Participate in ongoing general housekeeping of warehouse
  • Check assigned equipment for proper operation/functionality and communicate problems to Lead Warehouse Associate or Supervisor
  • Follow safe work habits and established safety procedures
  • Safely operate additional warehouse equipment
  • Attend meetings and training sessions
  • Other warehouse tasks as assigned
