About The Position

Metropolitan Warehouse is hiring full-time Warehouse Associates to load and unload packages and boxes, including heavy furniture, in a fast-paced environment. Associates perform a range of warehouse tasks by hand, such as sorting, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, staging, and wrapping items, as well as bending, twisting, and kneeling. They also help verify and maintain inventory and operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Shifts may vary based on package volume and business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy furniture.
• Reliable attendance.
• Attention to detail.
• Detailed record keeping.
• Flexibility to work past quitting time to complete the job.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to push and pull wheeled carts or pallet jacks loaded with merchandise.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently.
• Physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate small parts or delicate items with precision.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to address urgent operational needs.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of previous warehouse experience is desired.
• Experience working with furniture is preferred.
• Previous forklift certification or experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload packages and boxes, including furniture.
• Sort packages and boxes of varying sizes and weights by hand; lift, push, pull, carry, scan, stage, and wrap items.
• Assist with verifying inventory quantities and maintaining inventory levels.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely.
