About The Position

Metropolitan Warehouse is hiring full-time Warehouse Associates to load and unload packages and furniture in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Associates perform physical handling and sorting tasks, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, staging, and wrapping merchandise, and operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. They also assist with inventory verification and maintenance and other warehouse duties as needed. Shifts may vary according to warehouse package volume and business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of previous warehouse experience is desired.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with heavy furniture.
• Reliable attendance.
• Attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work past quitting time to complete the job.
• Detailed record keeping.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to push and pull wheeled carts or pallet jacks loaded with merchandise.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently.
• Physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate small parts or delicate items with precision.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to address urgent operational needs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with furniture preferred.
• Previous forklift certification or experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload packages, boxes, and furniture.
• Sort packages and boxes of varying sizes and weights by hand, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, staging, and wrapping merchandise.
• Assist with verifying inventory quantities and maintaining inventory levels.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
