About The Position

This role is for a full-time Warehouse Associate at the Wire Rope branch in Dartmouth, NS. The position reports to the Branch Manager and is responsible for the daily coordination of the warehouse, ensuring organization of the area, inventory, and equipment. It also involves ensuring the efficient and effective execution of customer sales orders, branch transfers, and departmental picking. Requirements

  • Previous warehouse experience is required
  • Computer skills and ability to use systems for shipping and receiving
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. from floor level to waist level
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • High school degree or equivalent an asset
  • Previous customer service experience an asset
  • Previous training in forklift operation considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes daily workflow based on required by dates on orders
  • Ensures cycle count activities are completed
  • Communicates directly with the Branch Manager on any department requirements for training, supplies or maintenance
  • Oversees all shipping and receiving activities
  • Prepares, packages and schedules out-going shipments with transport companies
  • Unloads and sorts incoming shipments and inter-branch transfers
  • Ensures all required paperwork for all orders is complete
  • Provides superior customer service by tracking shipments as required
  • Provides support to Front Counter Retail Sales when needed and provides excellent customer service to entering customers
  • Provides support to Production Team when necessary
  • Conducts Quality Assurance (QA) checks on outgoing orders
  • Motivates employees and maintains a positive environment
