About The Position

Perfetti Van Melle, a global leader in confectionery and chewing gum, is seeking passionate and enthusiastic Warehouse Associates to join their growing team. This role is crucial for the plant warehouse operations, involving shipping and receiving, inventory management, and supporting production by ensuring timely delivery of materials. The position operates on a 12-hour continental night shift schedule with a rotating pattern that results in working half the year.

Requirements

  • Forklift experience REQUIRED
  • Previous manufacturing/warehouse/distribution experience is required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work overtime hours, above your normal schedule, to meet customer’s demands.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis skills.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)- Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Uniform, Hairnet, Beard net, and Mask when required.
  • Ability to wear and use breathing protection devices as required while working in dusty conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to talk, hear, and smell.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally push/pull 350-pound carts with wheels.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Employee must be flexible in learning and working in other job functions to ensure a competent, trained workforce.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between facilities required.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate warehouse functions including shipping and receiving duties for internal production and raw material items.
  • Manage dock appointments.
  • Complete accurate inventory counts as requested.
  • Provide material support to production for manufacturing activities to prevent shut-downs.
  • Provide the production control coordinator with a complete list of all finished product shipments on the scheduled shift.
  • Schedule incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Load other shipments as required.
  • Receive, verify, and locate all incoming shipments.
  • Write up all receipts of items coming into the plant during the scheduled shift.
  • Maintain an accurate record of all location moves, receipts, and finished product produced during the scheduled shift.
  • Enter all receipts into the system.
  • Provide inventory counts as required by purchasing.
  • Keep warehouse and dock areas clean.
  • Operate all machinery required to achieve warehouse functions.
  • Perform computer work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
