About The Position

Metropolitan Warehouse is hiring full-time Warehouse Associates to load and unload packages and boxes in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The role involves handling heavy furniture and sorting packages of various sizes and weights by hand, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, staging, and wrapping. Associates also help verify inventory quantities and maintain inventory levels, perform other warehouse duties as needed, and operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Shifts may vary based on package volume and business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of previous warehouse experience is desired.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with heavy furniture.
• Reliable attendance.
• Attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work past the scheduled quitting time to complete the job.
• Detailed record keeping.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to push and pull wheeled carts or pallet jacks loaded with merchandise.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently.
• Physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate small parts or delicate items precisely.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to address urgent operational needs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with furniture is preferred.
• Previous forklift certification or experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload packages and boxes, including furniture.
• Sort packages and boxes of varying sizes and weights by hand through lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, staging, and wrapping.
• Assist in verifying inventory quantities and maintaining inventory levels.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely.
