About The Position

Charlie's Produce is seeking hard-working and reliable warehouse workers to join their growing operation. The role is responsible for maintaining a steady supply of product in stock for the picking crew, receiving accurately, keeping an account of inventory and its locations, and pulling partial orders for delivery. Additionally, the role involves preparing and packaging individual produce items in bags and bunches on the line when needed. All employees are responsible for food safety and must notify management of any compromises. The job requires adherence to an assignment sheet, applying labels, folding boxes, filling containers with produce, weighing packages, and setting packaged items on pallets. End-of-shift duties include cleaning the work area, table, scales, and sweeping the floor. Peripheral duties may be assigned by a lead or supervisor.

Requirements

• 1 year warehouse/picking experience preferred
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Positive attitude and high level of effort
• Ability to work in frozen (-10 F) and refrigerated (36 F) environments
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight time lines
• Team Player
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations (reading scale)
• Attendance is critical; employee must be dependable to report to work on time as scheduled
• Ability to observe and follow proper safety procedures, and a willingness to report potentially unsafe conditions

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a steady supply of product in stock for the picking crew
• Receiving accurately
• Keeping a running account of all inventory and its locations
• Pulling partial orders and preparing them for delivery to customers
• Preparing and packaging individual produce items in bags and bunches on the line
• Applying labels as necessary to individual containers
• Folding corrugated boxes
• Filling individual containers or boxes with specific quantity or weight of produce item or items
• Weighing individual packages to verify correct weight/amount of product
• Setting packaged items on pallets for transfer to correct cooler
• Cleaning work table and surrounding area at the end of shift, including wiping down table and scales with a rag and sanitizer, and sweeping floor
