About The Position

Ferguson, a Fortune 500 company, is a leading value-added distributor of residential and commercial plumbing supplies and pipe, valves and fittings in the U.S. Founded in 1953, Ferguson has approximately 36,000 associates across 1,700 locations. Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Warehouse Associate/Equipment Operator. This position requires familiarity and experience in multiple core warehouse functions, coupled with a commitment to phenomenal customer service. The role involves assisting in overseeing the day-to-day workflow of the department, meeting daily, weekly, and monthly department goals, and resolving operational issues. It also includes training and motivating subordinates, cultivating an environment of continuous improvement, and ensuring the department is clean, organized, secure, and safe. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as a safety harness, is mandatory.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Has proven the ability to train others
  • Fully proficient in multiple core warehouse functions
  • Proven understanding of safety regulations and procedures
  • Product knowledge
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer proficient
  • Strong organization skills and leadership qualities to take and give team direction

Nice To Haves

  • A background in warehouse operations and logistics, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing the day-to-day workflow of the department
  • Assist in meeting daily, weekly, and monthly department goals
  • Assist in resolving day-to-day operational issues
  • Assist in training and motivating subordinates to improve current performance
  • Cultivate an environment of continuous improvement by finding opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, quality, and/or reduce costs while championing related initiatives
  • Works with team to ensure department is clean, organized, secure and safe at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes wearing a safety harness with a maximum weight capacity of 400 lbs.
