About The Position

Wolseley Canada is the leading wholesale distributor of plumbing, HVAC/R, waterworks and industrial products in the country. This role is for a Warehouse Associate/Driver who will be an integral part of the warehouse team, ensuring orders are staged and delivered to customers in a timely manner, while also maintaining warehouse cleanliness and inventory. Requirements

  • Previous warehouse experience required
  • General basic computer skills including Microsoft Office is required
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Must be dependable and reliable and willing to take initiative
  • Valid G license required.
  • Clean driver’s abstract is required. (No traffic tickets, no points, and no “at-fault” accidents within the last 3 years)
  • Able to regularly lift up to fifty (50lbs) pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certified or ability to be certified
  • WHMIS and TDG certification would be an asset
  • Knowledge of industry (Plumbing and or HVAC) products is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload product in a timely manner to meet delivery deadlines and customer commitments
  • Deliver orders to customers’ facilities, construction sites other branches or warehouses using the most effective itinerary or assigned itinerary.
  • Receive incoming shipments and checking for accuracy
  • Put away product to correct areas in the warehouse in a timely manner
  • Pick, pack and ship customer orders, including preparing documentation for shipment
  • Liaise with freight companies and inside/outside customers to determine shipping priorities
  • Responsible for transporting material to and from customer sites and other local locations.
  • Obtain necessary shipping documentation related to the assigned route.
  • Load items and orders into truck while adhering to a sometimes tight to delivery schedule.
  • Strap and/or secure material so that there is no damage or breakage to the material during transport.
  • Unload products according to the destination’s applicable rules.
  • Responsible for obtaining a signature of acknowledgment of delivery.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and safety procedures are maintained in the warehouse.
  • Provide backup support to Counter Sales team as needed by providing product knowledge and information to customers in a professional manner.
