About The Position

S&S Tire is seeking to add a warehouse associate/backup driver to their team. This position involves manual labor, including lifting tires up to 150 lbs. The role combines warehouse receiver tasks with driver responsibilities for delivering products and collecting payments.

Requirements

  • Desire and ability to work in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move tires with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • Proper placement of received products in warehouse.
  • Proper placement of shipping products in warehouse.
  • Willingness and ability to operate all warehouse-related equipment.
  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable driving experience.
  • Good safety record (no more than 3 violations in the last 3 years).
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Commitment to being on time.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Loads, unloads, checks and tallies tires to and from carriers.
  • Selects, packs, counts, marks, and palletizes tires for customer orders.
  • Checks and verifies accuracy of selecting, packing, weighing, marking, and counting of tires.
  • Operates order picker, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
  • Ensures safety guidelines are met in operating equipment and in proper palletizing, re-palletizing, and restacking of tires.
  • Performs required counting, tallying, and marking on inventory control documents.
  • Participates in cycle and/or annual physical inventories.
  • Maintains compliance with procedures and policies.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Safely operates 16' to 28' box truck for delivery of products.
  • Makes collections from customers for merchandise delivered on a Cash on Delivery basis.
  • Makes a list of prospective customers along the designated route.
  • Ensures good mechanical operation of the vehicle.
  • Performs pre-trip vehicle inspections and reports operating problems or mechanical defects.
  • Completes all driver and vehicle maintenance logs.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested.
