Warehouse Associate/Backup CDLA Driver - Rockford, IL
About The Position
Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. We are growing and seeking a Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver. Your workload will be split between 80% Warehouse and 20% driving and will be responsible for a variety of warehouse duties, including receiving, unloading, storing material, picking and loading products for our customer orders. As well as delivering pre-hung doors, and other supplies. This position requires you to physically load and unload products and engage with our customers when needed.
Requirements
- History of being a truck driver, delivery driver, and especially experience with Class A CDL.
- Strong physical stamina – this role requires a lot of physical activity.
- Highly organized and self-motivated – you should be a self-starter who doesn’t require constant supervision.
- Experienced driver with a Class A driver's license (CDL A) and medical card.
- Able to pass drug test, background, Clearinghouse and motor vehicle pre-employment screen.
- Required to pass a driving test.
- Must be able to pass a physical examination as required by the U. S. Department of Transportation.

Responsibilities
- Use your CDL A license to deliver products to our customers.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of your truck, depending on the customer.
- Work safely, attend safety meetings and follow all safety procedures and policies.
- Operate a forklift; forklift operator experience and certification are a plus!
- Take ownership for maintaining inventory counts with your work area.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ensure that material loaded for delivery matches our orders.
- Lift extremely heavy, awkward products repeatedly to store and load onto a truck.
