The Warehouse/Backup Driver increases operational efficiency, company profitability, and customer satisfaction by accurately and safely receiving and storing materials, processing incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring complete and on-time orders for the company’s customers. Backup Drivers provide order and delivery services according to the mission and culture of JHL.

Requirements

• Highschool diploma or GED
• 1 year working in a warehouse environment as a team member, working with power equipment such as forklifts, and pulling orders.
• A solid understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping processes
• Minimum 1 year experience driving a medium-duty commercial or delivery vehicle in all weather conditions
• Takes initiative while displaying leadership qualities
• Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with team members
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Ability to collaborate within a multi-functional team
• Ability to work safely and accurately
• Strong math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication) and reading skills
• Detail oriented, organized, consistent, and tenacious
• Organized with strong time management skills
• Valid US Driver’s license
• Clean Driving Record

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years in a warehouse setting, working with power equipment, an RF Scanner, a forklift, wire cutting, and pulling orders preferred
• Up-to-date federal medical card preferred

Responsibilities

• Pick, fill, and pack orders on a timely basis to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries – including picking pipe and wire cutting when applicable.
• Load and unload materials and trucks
• Safely utilize power equipment when necessary to fulfill orders and restock warehouse shelves.
• Keep the warehouse clean and organized including disposal of leftover packing materials such as wooden crates, pallets, and cardboard
• Maintain accurate inventory management and take inventory of materials shipped or received.
• Refill primary bins using proper procedures and minimizing open boxes
• Receive and process incoming stock and materials
• Deliver products to customers in absence of FT driver
• Communicate with other departments and branches regarding order status or inventory issues.
• Work in a team environment to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse
