Warehouse Assistant
About The Position
Arnoff Moving & Storage is hiring a Warehouse Assistant for its Malta location. This full-time role involves fulfilling customer orders, handling incoming and outbound inventory, maintaining accurate and organized stock, and helping keep the warehouse safe and clean. The company provides paid training on forklifts and electric pallet jacks and training in its Warehouse Management System and mobile scanners. Advancement opportunities are available, and the company is willing to train the right candidate. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role also offers an opportunity to participate in an emergency fulfillment on-call rotation covering Saturday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 7:00 a.m. Rotations last one week at a time and are currently one week out of every four. Employees receive extra pay during their on-call week. Emergency orders must be filled within one hour of a call, averaging about five call-out fulfillments per week, so participants need to live within a reasonable driving distance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
- A good safety record and strong organizational habits.
- Basic math skills.
- Comfort with email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- For on-call rotation participants, live within a reasonable driving distance.
Nice To Haves
- Forklift or powered equipment experience.
- Previous experience with warehouse management software.
Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and ship fulfillment orders accurately and on time.
- Receive and put away incoming inventory and load outbound shipments.
- Keep stock organized and inventory accurate by following standard procedures.
- Operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks; training is provided.
- Use handheld scanners and the Warehouse Management System to track orders and pallets.
- Help keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organized.
- If participating in the on-call rotation, fill emergency orders within one hour of a call.
