About The Position

BlueStar is a leading global solutions-based distributor of Point-of-Sale, Bar-Coding, Data Collection, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and Wireless Mobility products. The Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for assisting in the oversight and coordination of all warehouse functions on our 2nd Shift Pick/Pack/Ship Operation.

Requirements

Associates degree or equivalent work experience
1+ years of experience leading and managing in a team environment
Basic Microsoft office skills
Ability to train others
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Strong organizational skills
Authority to make disciplinary or managerial decisions such as, but not limited to: hiring, terminating, disciplining, resolving conflicts or attendance of other employees in accordance with manager.

Nice To Haves

Oracle knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

Assists and makes decisions in the daily operations to identify and resolve problem areas.
Assists and manages all personnel to ensure they are trained, working effectively and are working to the highest level of accuracy.
Assists and makes decisions with inventory accuracy functions.
Identifies and suggests improvements to warehouse processes and procedures for optimizing cost reductions, customer service, productivity, and safety enhancements.
Assists in managing and makes decisions regarding security and access to the facility.
Assists in monitoring the general maintenance and upkeep of the facility, procurement and supplies.
Promotes a safe work environment, upholding company safety policies and procedures.
Serves as the lead when the Manager is out of the building.
Assists the manager and other employees with: Inventory Control, Picking, Packing, and Shipping of daily orders.
Assists in training and supervising the employee base.
Must be certified as a train the trainer on moving equipment.
Must understand and know all functions of Receiving, Put-Away, Inventory Control, Picking, Packing, Cycle Counting, Returns and Shipping of daily orders.
Other duties as assigned.
