As an Area Manager, you will provide strategic support and leadership for a single shift of distribution operations. You will manage day-to-day operations by coordinating workers' activities with the outbound leadership team. You will build strong and effective working relationships between outbound operations and other company departments , enabling successful performance against assigned facility productivity metrics.

Requirements

One to three years of related experience and/or training in the field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven leadership experience.
Able to work independently and comfortable leading diverse teams within the warehouse.
Ability to develop and motivate teams.
Ability to provide vision and direction.
Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from various levels of management.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret a wide variety of instructions, both oral and written.
Utilize spreadsheets and PC software to analyze, develop, and report key performance indicators for the department.
Knowledge and use of WMS and Radio Frequency Guns at a managerial level.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic support and leadership for a single shift of distribution operations.
Manage day-to-day operations by coordinating workers' activities with the outbound leadership team.
Build strong and effective working relationships between outbound operations and other company departments, enabling successful performance against assigned facility productivity metrics.
Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
Conduct studies and standardize processes and procedures to improve worker efficiency.
Create and maintain a high-quality work environment so that team members are motivated to perform at their highest level.
Working with supervisors and team leads, maintaining harmony among employees, and resolving employee issues.
Partner with Human Resources to improve organizational effectiveness, restructure work assignments, and address employee concerns.
Develop managerial and supervisory staff and promote teamwork.
Confer with other distribution center managers to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, inventory management, and quality assurance.
Identify employees' skills and develop them through regular coaching and counseling.
Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
Analyze staffing and payroll to achieve departmental goals.
Analyze and report on all outbound productivity metrics.
Develop and apply management reports and other statistical data to improve operational processes, increase efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction.
Monitor employee timecards and track departmental costs.
