About The Position

Expeditors is seeking a Warehouse Agent to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse while adhering to company rules, regulations, and prioritizing safety. This role involves accurately unloading, documenting, storing, pulling, labeling, and transferring shipments to carriers before cut-off times. The company emphasizes professionalism, leadership, and a customer service-based approach to logistics, with a strong focus on internal promotion and employee retention.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • 6 months or more of direct experience in a similar position.
  • Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math (add, subtract, divide, multiply) and write legibly.
  • Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to use proper lifting techniques.
  • Ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety is extremely important.
  • Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements.
  • Must be able to shift priorities easily.
  • Must be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements.
  • Must have excellent work habits.
  • Must be familiar with warehouse systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Fork-lift certification may be required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all vendor safety practices are adhered to, instruct others of proper safety practices and advise supervisor of abuses.
  • Work closely with the shift lead to ensure a smooth operation for the day and for the week. Discuss all inconsistencies to the plan with the supervisor.
  • Maintain the level of appearance of the warehouse expected by the Expeditors culture.
  • Check for and verify all documentation while completing required processes accurately and efficiently.
  • Unload and load cargo in a safely, accurately and efficiently.
  • Arrange for the transfer of cargo using radio, telephone and computer communication.
  • Responsible for updating and entering event codes when necessary.
  • Conduct cycle counts, physical inventories and ensure the overall accuracy of the inventory stored within the facility when instructed.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment in the process of moving products safely.
