Ward Clerks also coordinate patient transfers, including arranging air and ground transport for individuals requiring a higher level of care than the facility can provide, helping to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow throughout the care process. As the Ward Clerk, you serve as the communication hub of the hospital and emergency department, directly impacting patient care by ensuring information flows accurately and efficiently between patients, families, and clinical teams. You organize and prioritize critical patient information that supports nurses, APPs, and physicians in making timely decisions. You also play a vital role in patient outcomes by coordinating air and ground transfers when higher levels of care are needed, helping ensure patients receive the right care without delay.
