About The Position

Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute (SWVMHI) in Marion, VA is recruiting for a Ward Clerk CNA to join its talented and dedicated Nursing Services Team. Ward Clerk CNAs are experienced with mental health recovery assistance for individuals and assist Nursing with communication and collaboration between caregivers in all services. They provide direct care as Certified Nursing Aides. Additionally, they organize resources and publicize nursing activities on the wards for events such as individual treatments, groups, or visitation. Ward Clerk CNAs provide clerical assistance for the unit which includes managing supplies and resources. They manage nursing staff access to and transfer of documents from the unit to Health Information Management Department.

Requirements

Maintain CNA (Certified Nursing Aide) certification in good standing with the VA State Board of Nursing.
Driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
Experience in a psychiatric, healthcare facility, acute care, long-term care, or correction setting is preferred.
Basic computer skills needed.
Prefer attainment of Level II Direct Support Professional (DSP) Career Pathway.
Strongly prefer coursework in medical terminology and office computer skills.
Strongly prefer experience working in healthcare or office receptionist using Electronic Health Record (EHR).
