Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • ServeSafe® certification
  • Local Health Department Food Handler Card
  • Must sign the Driver job description and understand the key essential duties for safety and regulatory compliance (if applicable, for team members who drive a Sunrise vehicle)
  • Must complete and pass a drug test (which does not include marijuana)
  • Must complete and pass a Tuberculosis Test
  • Must complete and pass a physical evaluation
  • Must complete and pass a background check (where required)
  • Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination may be required if mandated by applicable federal, state, and local laws and authorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living

Responsibilities

  • Providing timely and professional meal service to residents and guests.
  • Bussing and resetting tables.
  • General cleaning.
  • Completing assigned side work while adhering to all food safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Cultivating a warm and hospitable environment by making personal connections with residents and guests and treating all with professionalism and respect.
  • Taking and delivering food orders in a timely manner.
  • Bussing and resetting tables per company standards.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the dining room and bistro to the highest standards per company guidelines.
  • Completing required side work as assigned.
  • Attending pre-meal meetings to gain knowledge of the meal.
  • Maintaining knowledge of menu items and providing general descriptions.
  • Assisting residents with menu selections and responding professionally to questions about menu items.
  • Using Sunrise systems per guidelines for order taking and meal delivery to ensure accuracy.
  • Practicing safe food handling procedures at all times in accordance with all, federal, state/provincial, and local laws, regulations, and guidance and Sunrise policies and procedures.
  • Complying with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety and Risk Management programs and policies, adhering to safety rules and regulations, and practicing safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
  • Performing other Dining Services duties when assigned by community leadership in the following areas, but not limited to: Wash and sanitize all dishes and china, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware.
  • Sweeping work areas, sanitizing production areas, and emptying trash.
  • Preparing and serving light meals in a timely manner and in accordance with established standardized recipes and menus.
  • Assisting with food preparation and plating when necessary.
  • Participating actively as a member of a team and committing to working toward team goals.
  • Demonstrating in daily interactions with others, our Team Member Credo.
  • Committing to serving our residents and guests through our Principles of Service.
  • Contributing to the overall engagement programs and processes.
  • Attending regular meetings; Town Hall, Department Team, Cross Over, and others as directed by the Supervisor/Department Coordinator.
  • Maintaining compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
