About The Position

Morrison Living is hiring full-time and part-time Waiters/Waitresses at Miami Jewish Home & Hospital in Miami, Florida. The role takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests. Schedules vary by day and hours, and holidays may be required. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. The fixed pay rate is $15.00 per hour. The position is part of the culinary team and focuses on providing hospitable dining experiences while following established service, food-handling, and sanitation standards. Associates work with guests and staff from other departments, including during special events and functions, and must handle personal or medical information sensitively and confidentially. Requirements

Responsibilities

Promptly and warmly greet dining room guests and take food and beverage orders according to established service steps.
Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food-handling and sanitation standards; follow up on additional needs or requests.
Understand menu items and ingredients, advise guests on food and drink combinations when requested, accommodate reasonable requests, and note preferences.
Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
Communicate effectively and remain flexible and patient with guests and staff.
Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared.
Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information or complaints to a supervisor.
Set up the dining room before service and restore it afterward, keeping the area clean and meeting sanitation standards.
Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
Work with staff from other departments during special events and functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
