About The Position

Unidine is hiring immediately for part time WAITER/WAITRESS positions at Creekside Retirement Community. This role involves taking food and beverage orders, efficiently delivering items to dining room guests, and ensuring a positive dining experience. The position requires a strong understanding of menu items, ingredients, and the ability to accommodate guest requests. You will work with a supportive team and contribute to enhancing the lives of residents.

Requirements

  • 1 year of serving experience required
  • Food Handler’s license preferred
  • Senior living experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room.
  • Take food and beverages orders in an efficient manner, following established steps of service.
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests.
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients.
  • Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested; accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
  • Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate ability to get along well with others.
  • Remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff.
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
  • Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information.
  • Promptly address complaints or issues; relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.
  • Ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period; keep area clean and neat while meeting established sanitation standards.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines.
  • Work with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
