About The Position

The Event Services Reservations and Space Access Coordinator independently coordinates and supervises the day-to-day scheduling for the Viking Union, Lakewood, Campus Exterior Space, other university locations and departmental resources. This position evaluates requests for compliance with Washington Administrative Code (WAC), university policy, and departmental policies, as well as initial risk assessment related to facility or resource. This position assigns department resources and provides logistical instructions to operational staff in support of routine events. The position also administers our facilities access control device issuance and record keeping. In completing the work, the position has extensive communication with students, faculty, staff and off campus clients as well as supervises a team of student employees in supporting the day today activities in these areas. The StateHR classification for this position is Program Support Supervisor 1.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated well rounded experience working effectively in diverse and inclusive environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in event related planning, management, or service delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated experience using scheduling software, ideally software that schedules space, or manages an inventory of resources.
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in a customer service setting
  • Strong organizational skills for record keeping and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Mazevo, EMS or similar event management software.
  • Prior experience with supervision including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
  • Experience working with, advising, or mentoring young adults, especially in a college setting.
