About The Position

Manager/VP – Valuation Policy Oversight and Governance Position Overview To assist and support the development, implementation, maintenance, and oversight of global valuation and valuation adjustment policies. This role ensures that as part of the 2LoD, asset valuations are conducted accurately, consistently, and in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and internal controls. Acts as the subject matter expert for valuation methodologies, policy updates, and supports audit and regulatory inquiries related to valuation processes.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or 7+ years relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Governance and Oversight: Monitor adherence to the valuation policy across relevant business units.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and assessments to ensure effective implementation, especially around Level 3 instruments.
  • Support decision-making by offering informed opinions and practical solutions related to policy exceptions, breaches, or unique scenarios, in close collaboration with line IPV, risk, and audit teams.
  • Escalate, track and address policy breaches or exceptions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for policy-related inquiries from internal teams, auditors, and regulators.
  • Facilitate training and communication regarding policy updates and valuation standards.
  • Encourage a culture of compliance and best practices by mentoring team members and promoting awareness of policy objectives and expectations throughout the organization
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on changes in exposure, new products and audit and regulatory updates around valuations.
  • Recommend enhancements to policies and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Facilitate periodic reviews and maintain comprehensive records of policy versions, approvals, and implementation status.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on valuation policy compliance and effectiveness.
  • Employee / Team Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.
  • Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
  • Actively enhance knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit
