About The Position

Total Wine & More is seeking a Vice President, Supply Chain Planning & Inventory Management to join our Supply Chain team in our Bethesda, MD office. You will serve as the senior executive responsible for architecting and leading Total Wine & More's enterprise planning ecosystem—spanning demand planning, supply planning, store replenishment, and inventory strategy. You will define and execute a long-range vision that aligns supply with customer demand, enables business growth, strengthens financial outcomes, and enhances operational resilience across a multi-echelon supply chain network. You will drive cross-functional alignment with Merchandising, Finance, Store Operations, and Technology to advance a unified, data-driven planning model that delivers exceptional forecast accuracy, optimized inventory investment, and industry-leading in-stock and product availability. You will guide the development of a scalable operating framework, elevate planning capabilities through process and systems innovation, and drive strategic initiatives that reduce total cost-to-serve while improving customer experience. You will build and mentor a high-performing leadership team; foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement; and influence senior stakeholders across the enterprise. The ideal executive pairs deep functional expertise with strategic acumen, bringing thought leadership, innovation, and strong executive presence to supply chain planning and inventory management as a strategic competitive advantage. This role reports to the Chief Supply Chain Officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Supply Chain, or related field. required or equivalent years of experience
  • 10+ years progressive leadership experience in end-to-end supply chain planning functions, including demand planning, supply planning, replenishment, and inventory strategy
  • Ability to set a cohesive long-range planning and inventory vision aligned with corporate strategy, customer experience, and financial objectives.
  • Proven success leading planning organizations of significant scale (multi-site, multi-category, international supply).
  • Executive presence — persuasive communicator capable of influencing C-suite leaders, Board members, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving large-scale business transformation, including process redesign, technology modernization, and adoption of advanced planning platforms (e.g., o9, Blue Yonder, SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Anaplan).
  • Skilled at organizational design — able to reshape operating models and rebuild capability as the business evolves.
  • Experience fostering alignment across Merchandising, Finance, Operations, Technology, and external partners to deliver integrated outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills with mastery of scenario planning, risk trade-off analysis, and data-driven prioritization.
  • Ability to link planning outcomes to financial results — inventory turns, working capital efficiency, service, and profitability.
  • Demonstrated capability to scale, coach, and elevate senior leaders; foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to anticipate market shifts, supply risk, and demand volatility; implement proactive mitigation and resiliency strategies.
  • Skilled at developing and governing KPIs, business reviews, and performance frameworks that drive transparency, accountability, and predictable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Set the enterprise strategy for demand planning, supply planning, and store replenishment—aligning long-range demand, inventory investment, and service outcomes to company growth, financial objectives, and customer experience expectations.
  • Champion the continuous improvement and modernization of planning systems, data platforms, and processes to enable predictive analytics, scenario planning, automated decision-making, and improved planning accuracy and agility.
  • Build, develop, and scale a high-performing planning leadership team - strengthening organizational design, deepening succession pipelines, and driving a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive enterprise alignment by integrating strategies and driving partnership with Merchandising, Store Operations, Supply Chain Operations, and Finance to synchronize forecasts, inventory strategies, and replenishment plans in support of sales, cash flow, inventory, and profitability goals.
  • Anticipate and mitigate systemic supply chain risk by proactively addressing demand volatility, supplier constraints, changing customer preferences, and market disruption; develop mitigation strategies that enhance supply continuity and resiliency.
  • Sponsor and mobilize enterprise programs that improve in-stock/product availability, reduce working capital, enhance profitability, reduce cost, and increase responsiveness across channels and markets.
  • Establish and govern enterprise planning performance frameworks—including KPIs, reporting standards, and accountability mechanisms—to ensure transparency, predictability, and data-driven cross-functional decision making across the organization.
  • Shape executive-level decision-making by engaging senior leadership and strategic partners to secure alignment, influence investment, and advance long-term planning priorities.
