About The Position

The VP Sourcing is a senior leadership position responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives across the organization. The role ensures the sourcing function delivers value through cost optimization, supplier partnerships, risk mitigation, and alignment with business objectives. The VP Sourcing collaborates with executive leadership and the executive team to align sourcing and broader strategic plans with company goals, vision, and growth objectives. The position leads sourcing teams and department heads, builds a collaborative, high-performance culture, and drives innovation, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement. The employee will have direct reports. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
15 or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and/or experience.
10 or more years of management experience.
Expertise as a strategic leader who leads through other leaders by setting strategy and direction while allowing them to manage tactical operations.
Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance in sensitive situations while preserving relationships.
Responsibility for the function’s productivity and collective impact.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively.
Integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite products.
Professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness when formal guidelines and procedures are absent.

Responsibilities

Align sourcing strategy with company goals and develop strategies that optimize total cost of ownership, quality, and supplier performance across direct and indirect categories.
Establish strategic supplier partnerships that support innovation, sustainability, and supply assurance.
Build and lead a high-performing sourcing team, supporting professional development and succession planning.
Oversee sourcing initiatives and negotiate complex contracts and agreements to deliver financial and operational value.
Partner with operations, product development, finance, legal, and other internal stakeholders on cross-functional sourcing needs.
Define sourcing policies, governance frameworks, and compliance protocols in alignment with corporate risk management standards.
Improve sourcing processes, systems, and analytics, including the use of digital procurement tools and dashboards.
Assess supplier risks, implement contingency plans, and respond to supply chain disruptions.
Monitor sourcing performance using KPIs and report progress, savings, and strategic impact to senior leadership.
Manage sourcing budgets and resource planning for current and future business needs.
Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the company's vision and goals.
Provide visionary leadership to drive growth and innovation.
Identify and pursue business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansions.
Lead initiatives to enhance market presence, competitiveness, operational efficiency, and effectiveness.
Provide leadership to department heads and teams and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Identify and assess risks to the company's success and implement risk management strategies.
Build and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders, and support customer satisfaction and retention.
Perform other duties as needed.
