VP Product Strategy

MARKT-PILOTChicago, IL
Hybrid

About The Position

MARKT-PILOT is the creator of the Pricing Performance category for industrial manufacturers. Our platform, MP ONE, helps manufacturers continuously optimize pricing decisions by combining market intelligence, pricing execution, governance, and performance measurement into a single system. More than 200 manufacturers globally rely on MARKT-PILOT to improve profitability in their aftermarket businesses. As we scale globally, we are building the category-defining platform for Pricing Performance. This is one of the most strategically important leadership roles in MARKT-PILOT. The VP Product Strategy owns the product roadmap and serves as the critical link between market opportunity, customer reality, data intelligence, and product innovation. Unlike a traditional product leader, this role operates equally in strategy and execution. You will identify opportunities, validate concepts directly with customers, shape product investments, and ensure our Product Developer organization is focused on the highest-impact opportunities. Product Developers report to the CPTO, not this role. Your responsibility is to ensure they receive the sharpest possible strategic inputs and customer insights so they can move with extraordinary speed. The outcome: translating market insight into product innovation faster than competitors can react.

Requirements

  • Deep experience in pricing software, commercial excellence, revenue management, CPQ, or adjacent enterprise software categories.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategy, optimization, monetization, and commercial execution.
  • Proven success shaping product strategy and innovation in a high-growth software environment.
  • Technical fluency and the ability to engage Product Developers as a peer.
  • Exceptional discovery, problem-framing, and customer engagement skills.
  • Comfortable validating concepts directly through workshops, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts.
  • Naturally curious, forward-looking, and biased toward action.
  • Credible with executives, customers, and industry leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap and process to review investment priorities.
  • Determine what we build, why we build it, and when.
  • Align product investments with company strategy and category leadership.
  • Serve as the company's authority on customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Build direct relationships with executives and practitioners across our target industries.
  • Translate market insights into actionable product opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities before they become obvious.
  • Generate and validate new concepts through customer engagement, rapid experimentation, and proof-of-concepts.
  • Drive differentiated innovation, not simply feature requests.
  • Lead the Data & Intelligence organization.
  • Shape how market, pricing, and supplier intelligence become competitive advantages within MP ONE.
  • Advance the Pricing Performance category through thought leadership, customer engagement, and industry presence.
  • Help define where the market is going—not just where it is today.
