About The Position

Osmow’s is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Operations to lead and elevate restaurant operations across Canada and the United States. In this role, you will drive operational excellence, profitability, and brand consistency across all corporate and franchise locations while ensuring strong execution of business strategy at the restaurant level. You will actively engage in field operations, leading through observation, coaching, and continuous improvement to optimize performance, efficiency, and customer experience. The VP of Operations is a hands-on, field-driven leader responsible for overseeing all restaurant operations across corporate and franchise locations in Canada and the United States. This role drives operational excellence, profitability, and brand consistency by translating business strategy into execution while actively engaging in restaurant-level operations. A key focus of this role is continuous improvement through in-field observation, workflow analysis, and motion studies to enhance efficiency, speed of service, labour productivity, and customer experience. The VP of Operations ensures strong leadership development, compliance with operational standards, and sustainable business growth across all units.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, construction, or development, preferably within QSR, FSR, or franchise-based environments.
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing large-scale, multi-site projects and teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, high-impact projects from conception through delivery.
  • Strong expertise in construction management, capital planning, budgeting, and contract negotiation.
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional leadership teams and franchise partners.
  • Executive-level decision-making skills, strategic thinking, and business acumen.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Office365.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in QSR or multi-unit restaurant operations (required)
  • Proven senior leadership experience overseeing multi-location operations
  • Strong background in P&L management, EBITDA growth, labour control, and cost optimization
  • Strong hands-on leadership style with ability to operate in both strategic and field environments
  • Experience conducting operational analysis, workflow reviews, or motion studies
  • Strong financial acumen and business understanding
  • Excellent coaching, leadership development, and accountability skills
  • Strong communication and influencing abilities across all levels
  • Proven ability to drive operational consistency across multiple units
  • High adaptability, urgency, and results-driven mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams); restaurant systems an asset

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in high-growth QSR environments strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality Management, or related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Drive EBITDA growth by increasing same-restaurant sales and effectively managing labour, cost of goods, and other controllable expenses
  • Translate business strategy into day-to-day operational execution to deliver exceptional quality, service, and cleanliness across all restaurants
  • Ensure successful start-up and opening of new restaurants through effective training of management and team members
  • Oversee operational performance, execution, and leadership across Canadian and U.S. markets, ensuring consistent brand standards, financial performance, and operational excellence
  • Ensure all company programs, policies, procedures, and systems are consistently implemented within approved budgets and timelines
  • Maintain a strong in-restaurant presence to assess performance and ensure brand standard execution
  • Ensure seamless execution of new product launches across all locations
  • Regularly visit restaurants to stay connected to frontline teams, franchise partners, and operations
  • Conduct operational reviews and workflow/motion studies to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Develop and implement process improvements and operational best practices across all restaurants
  • Provide hands-on support during peak periods, new openings, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Oversee resolution of escalated customer complaints and service recovery standards
  • Review operational audits and ensure timely completion of corrective actions
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor General Managers and restaurant leadership teams
  • Build leadership pipelines and structured career development programs
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, ESA, Human Rights, and food safety regulations
  • Partner with franchisees and leadership teams to drive operational consistency
  • Monitor key metrics including sales, profitability, audits, and employee engagement
  • Use operational data and KPIs to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
  • Maintain strong community and public relations presence across all markets
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required
