About The Position

Paces is hiring its first VP of Product, reporting to the CEO and Co-Founder. This is a hands-on leadership role where the individual will own product strategy across three pods (Power, Risk, and Platform), build and lead the product organization, and remain closely involved in the details of product development, including writing specifications, participating in customer calls, and making critical decisions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product management, with at least 3 years leading product teams.
  • Experience hiring Product Managers and managing teams through pod or group leads.
  • Proven track record of taking a technical B2B product from early traction to significant scale, ideally within the $5M to $50M ARR range.
  • Experience shipping AI products where accuracy is critical and users are domain experts, not general consumers.
  • Fluency with data-heavy products.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey information through specs, memos, and updates, reducing the need for meetings.
  • Demonstrated experience and opinions on pricing and packaging, including successful implementation of changes.

  • Background in power, energy, data centers, or infrastructure.
  • Experience as the first product leader at a company and navigating the associated challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for a platform that carries a data center or power project from market selection through siting, permitting, and interconnection.
  • Build a product that customers reach for daily rather than quarterly, driven by relevant metrics for AI-forward products.
  • Hire and coach Product Managers capable of effectively communicating with both transmission engineers and staff Machine Learning engineers.
  • Engage deeply with customers such as hyperscalers, data center developers, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and renewable developers to translate their needs directly into a product roadmap for engineering.
  • Ship agentic AI products that domain experts trust, establishing standards for evaluating agent quality, managing failure modes, and determining human involvement.
