About The Position

The VP of Product Management will be responsible for ensuring the company as a whole is building, shipping, and supporting the right product. This role requires a holistic understanding of the product and how it contributes to the company's success. The VP will shape, define, and articulate product requirements and vision, melding requirements across various functions and teams to ensure individual unit objectives are met and aligned with the company’s overall plan. This includes working with the leadership team to define detailed metrics, acting as a conduit between the product team and leadership, and participating in daily product standups to monitor team cadence and unblock issues. The VP will also sell the product vision internally and externally, drive employee participation and input, and proactively solicit customer feedback to understand and predict future wants and needs. A key responsibility is creating and managing a detailed product roadmap tied to concrete business goals and revenue projections, prioritizing new features, and triaging bugs. The role involves tying multiple new products into the company’s overall plan, managing product launches through collaboration, and overseeing the product life cycle from early-stage to maturity. Identifying and assessing opportunities for product development based on market and data analysis, and keeping a pulse on the market to anticipate industry shifts are also crucial. The VP will create and socialize key metrics and reporting to track product success and be able to pivot the product while protecting the user experience.

Requirements

  • Prior experience leading product management teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • 8+ years of product management experience
  • Experience owning products with 500k+ users or greater than $1B in transactions.
  • Experience owning B2B products
  • Team leader willing to get in the weeds while maintaining sight of company’s strategic vision

  • Experience with consumer-facing products a plus

Responsibilities

  • Shape, define, and articulate product requirements and vision both verbally and in product documentation, melding requirements across various functions and teams to make sure individual unit objectives are met and in line with the company’s overall plan
  • Work with the leadership team to define detailed metrics
  • Act as the conduit between the product team and the leadership team
  • Participate when needed on daily product standups and monitor team cadence. Help unblock issues
  • Sell product vision both internally and externally. Company buy-in is just as important as customer adoption.
  • Drive employee participation and input
  • Proactively solicit customer feedback and understand current customer wants and needs
  • Predict future wants and needs before customers are even aware they have them
  • Create and manage a detailed product roadmap tied to concrete business goals and revenue projections.
  • Prioritize new features and triage high-level bugs
  • Tie multiple new products into the company’s overall plan, helping drive product launches through collaboration
  • Manage product life cycle, and internal and external constituents; ability to do this equally well in the early-stage and through product maturity (i.e. product build at scale)
  • Identify and assess opportunities for product development or extensions based on market and data driven analysis; present those ideas to various levels within the organization
  • Keep finger on pulse of the market and be able to anticipate industry shifts before they happen. This includes an understanding of competitors’ strengths and weaknesses
  • Create and socialize key metrics and reporting to track product success; ability to pivot product.
  • Protect the user experience in the process
  • Produce business case(s) to show viability of product(s)
  • Catalog, prioritize, and get consensus on feature requests pre and post MVP
  • Lead UI design phase, including managing potential consultants and holding internal reviews
  • Deliver requirements to implementation team(s). Field any questions that arise
  • Ability and knowledge to push back when necessary
  • Actively participate in the hiring process around product and company needs
