VP of Product, Commerce

StordRemote - GA, GA

About The Position

Stord is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join their rapidly growing company as the Vice President of Product, Commerce. This role will own the product and revenue outcomes of the Commerce suite of products, which includes 8 different products focused on the pre- and post-purchase consumer experience. The goal is to drive increased add-to-cart and checkout conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), margin per order, Lifetime Value (LTV), and subscriber retention. The VP will be responsible for building, managing, and scaling a world-class product team, developing the short and long-term product roadmap and strategy, and ensuring commercial success through customer engagement, cross-functional partnerships, pricing and packaging iteration, market positioning, and removing barriers to product adoption. This role also involves scaling and launching new products and expanding the product portfolio into new markets and business lines.

Requirements

  • Deep domain knowledge in Ecommerce and Commerce, with experience operating an Ecommerce business or scaling products servicing Ecommerce brands/merchants.
  • Understanding of the metrics Ecommerce founders, Marketing leaders, CX leaders, Operations leaders, and Finance leaders care about, including growth goals, retention targets, and margin and cash targets.
  • Experience leading a product organization at scale in a complex environment (e.g., high-growth venture-backed unicorns, public software companies, scaled logistics technology platforms).
  • Experience managing a multi-product portfolio to successful outcomes and building the organization required to drive that success.
  • Ability to go both wide and deep, managing a portfolio of independent and interrelated products with discipline.
  • Understanding of Ecommerce economics and ability to evaluate product decisions through the lens of an Ecommerce founder, marketer, operator, or leader.
  • Ability to speak the language of a brand's CFO, CMO, or CEO and deliver product outcomes that materially move unit economics and conversion metrics.
  • A point of view on best-in-class consumer experiences in a fast-changing landscape, tracking how leading brands, adjacent industries, AI, technology trends, cultural trends, and new startups are changing the pre-purchase, checkout, and post-purchase journey.
  • Conviction about the future of consumer experiences and ability to translate that conviction into a product roadmap that stays ahead of the market.
  • Managed or developed other product managers.

Nice To Haves

  • A pure strategist who cannot engage deeply in product details, customer problems, or execution tradeoffs.
  • A single-product specialist who has not demonstrated the ability to manage broader portfolio complexity.
  • A product leader who relies on roadmap process without clear business impact.
  • A leader who treats commercial outcomes, customer adoption, or implementation success as someone else’s responsibility.
  • A product manager who has not managed or developed other product managers.
  • A leader who cannot communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A candidate who speaks in broad product language but cannot provide specific examples of shipped products, tradeoffs, metrics, and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Product strategy and roadmap across the full Commerce suite of products covering the end-to-end pre- and post-purchase consumer experience.
  • Build and lead a team of world-class product managers within the Commerce product organization, hiring exceptional talent and developing product managers who understand the domain deeply.
  • Work directly with sales, solutions, and client success on competitive positioning, client retention, and new logo requirements, ensuring commercial alignment and revenue outcomes.
  • Define and own the operating cadences, metrics, and rituals that keep the Commerce product organization running at a fast pace, including portfolio prioritization and driving adoption and attach rates.
  • Own the revenue outcomes of the Commerce suite, including cARR growth, pricing and packaging decisions, attach rate optimization, and identifying and launching net-new products.
  • Set a compelling product vision and translate it into an executable roadmap.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on product judgment.
  • Go deep enough to understand product, customer, technical, and operational details.
  • Make disciplined tradeoffs across competing priorities.
  • Lead through influence across Engineering, GTM, Operations, Finance, and executive stakeholders.
  • Build strong product teams and raise the quality of product decision-making.
  • Use customer insight, data, and business context to guide product direction.

  • Operate effectively in ambiguity and complexity.
  • Represent the product internally and externally with credibility.
