VP of Product

MoonGlendale, CA
$320,000 - $380,000

About The Position

As VP of Product, you will own the mission to successfully launch our platform with our flagship customer, guiding a large, established operator through its transition off legacy systems and onto Moon. Your goal is to build the product into a scalable business ready for the public market, a platform that every home improvement business in our first target industry can adopt. The flagship deployment is the proving ground for the scalable product. You will partner closely with the company's engineering and IT leadership, who own delivery within their domains. You are accountable for the outcome: a successful launch, a successful customer, and a product ready to scale. Working side-by-side with the VP of Engineering, you will deliver the roadmap on time, with disciplined user testing, strong relationships with designers, operators, and homeowners, and the strategic judgment to meet customer needs without abandoning strategy.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in product, including 4+ years leading product organizations at a senior level.
  • Experience with the full lifecycle of a high-growth startup, from concepting through scaling.
  • Shipped a complex, multi-module B2B or vertical SaaS platform, ideally into an incumbent operation with real users from day one.
  • Owned go-to-market and customer onboarding for a B2B platform, not just the roadmap.
  • Metric-native: operates product by outcome pairs and guardrails, not feature lists.
  • Proven partnership with engineering leadership delivering on committed dates.
  • Field instinct: spends significant time with users and customers, translating insights into strategy.
  • Obsessed with detail and UI excellence, noticing nuances in pixels, copy, and user friction.
  • Deep understanding of business models, processes, and systems, thinking in unit economics and operational flows.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing precision.
  • AI-forward approach to personal and team work.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the multi-module roadmap on schedule, in lockstep with the VP of Engineering, meeting leadership's timelines for delivery and goals.
  • Own the go-to-market and customer onboarding plan and its success: transition the flagship customer from its legacy platform to Moon, and develop a repeatable playbook for future customers.
  • Run user testing and continuous customer contact as core disciplines to ensure the product meets user needs while maintaining strategic direction.
  • Manage active iteration of live modules and the concepting of new ones concurrently.
  • Manage complex cross-team dependencies to ensure efficient roadmap delivery, preventing engineering revisions due to communication or dependency issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design to develop and operate the model for daily shipping and iteration to production, and continuous software improvement.
  • Run agile rituals with discipline, such as demo days, weekly planning, and retrospectives, to support shipping rather than for ceremony.
  • Engage constantly with users, modeling them and conducting tests in actual homeowners' homes with partner companies to use the software in its intended environment.
  • Identify and enable automation and efficiency opportunities within customers' operations, ensuring the platform's success is tied to user success.
  • Own every team's success metrics, critical requirements, and charters, authoring, updating, and enforcing them.
  • Lead and develop the product and design organization, including staffing for PM, module PMs, 3D strategy, and product design.
