VP of Monetization

DigiCert•Sunnyvale, CA

About The Position

DigiCert's product organization is at an inflection point. As the market for intelligent trust expands — driven by AI, quantum readiness, and increasingly complex infrastructure — the need for a tightly run, commercially sharp product operation has never been greater. This role sits at the center of that ambition. Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, the VP of Monetization is a dual-mandate leader who combines strategic firepower with operational discipline. You will own the agenda that turns great products into great business outcomes: from how DigiCert monetizes its portfolio, to how products are launched and retired, to how the product organization accelerates go-to-market and earns the trust of the business. This is not a supporting role. It is a leadership role for someone who wants to sit close to the top of a product organization and shape it.

Requirements

  • 12+ years across business strategy, product operations, or commercial leadership, with meaningful time spent close to a C-suite executive or in a Chief of Staff capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise in monetization or pricing strategy, ideally in SaaS, platform, or enterprise software.
  • Strong product analytics background — comfortable with P&L, cohort analysis, funnel metrics, and usage data.
  • Exceptional communication skills: ability to write clearly, present confidently to executives, and translate complexity into crisp recommendations.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment and move organizations through ambiguity.
  • Self-directed and highly organized — ability to manage multiple high-stakes workstreams simultaneously.
  • Expertise with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with BI tools and product analytics platforms.
  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Consulting background (particularly in pricing, strategy, or go-to-market) is a strong differentiator.

Responsibilities

  • Own DigiCert's end-to-end monetization agenda, including pricing, packaging, and value capture across segments, channels, and geographies.
  • Design and steward DigiCert's pricing and packaging architecture, balancing competitive positioning, customer value, and margin expansion.
  • Build and maintain a monetization framework reflecting usage economics, buyer psychology, and strategic priorities.
  • Partner with CPO, GTM, and Finance to identify and operationalize revenue expansion opportunities (new tiers, bundles, usage-based models, upsell paths).
  • Analyze willingness-to-pay, competitive benchmarks, and cohort-level retention data to refine pricing logic.
  • Lead pricing governance, including pricing reviews, field feedback loops, and executive reporting on monetization performance.
  • Drive Product Led Growth (PLG) strategy, optimizing conversion, expansion, and retention levers within the product experience.
  • Own the full commercial lifecycle of DigiCert's product portfolio, from new product introduction (NPI) to product sunset.
  • Run the NPI process end-to-end, including readiness criteria, cross-functional coordination, pricing and packaging sign-off, and launch execution.
  • Own the Product Sunset process, managing transitions from legacy to next-generation products with clarity, customer sensitivity, and commercial discipline.
  • Maintain a clear view of portfolio health (what to accelerate, rationalize, or exit) and communicate this perspective to the CPO.
  • Build systems and rituals for data-grounded portfolio decisions, free from organizational inertia.
  • Serve as the analytical engine of the product organization, turning data into a shared language for decision-making.
  • Analyze product-level P&L, ARR, new ACV, and pipeline, and communicate the implications.
  • Drive product usage analytics to understand customer engagement, value realization, and loss points.
  • Own funnel analytics (adoption rates, abandonment, expansion) and translate findings into product and commercial recommendations.
  • Build and maintain executive reporting cadence for the CPO, including board prep, QBRs, and ad hoc requests.
  • Establish data infrastructure and analytical standards for a shared, trusted view of product performance.
  • Serve as the product organization's primary interface with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure successful market reach.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on product launches, coordinating with GTM teams on messaging, enablement, pricing readiness, and timing.
  • Identify and remove friction in the sales motion (e.g., packaging complexity, unclear positioning, missing collateral).
  • Manage technical and strategic partnerships, overseeing third-party integrations and evaluating new commercial models.
  • Help the product organization run more experiments through faster feedback loops, better instrumentation, and a culture of testing and learning.
  • Act as the CPO's strategic partner and operational right hand, ensuring clarity, alignment, and momentum within the product organization.
  • Own the CPO's operating rhythm, including staff meetings, offsites, strategic planning cycles, and cross-functional forums.
  • Serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor to the CPO.
  • Drive strategic initiatives at the CPO's direction, such as M&A support, due diligence, org design, and capability building.
  • Standardize internal and external communication for the product organization (templates, narratives, connective tissue).
