About The Position

Buyers Edge Platform is seeking a VP of Finance to support our Fresh Division, which includes a portfolio of brands focused on fresh produce and perishable supply chain solutions. This role will serve as a key business leader responsible for overseeing financial operations and controls, encompassing strategic planning, management reporting, compliance, accounting, budgeting/forecasting and driving scalable processes across a complex, multi-entity environment. The VP of Finance will partner closely with division leadership, providing financial visibility into business trends and interpreting financial data into actionable insights, transforming raw numbers from income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements into strategic decisions that improve profitability, efficiency, and growth; moving beyond reporting past performance to predicting future trends and enabling data-backed choices, such as optimizing pricing, reducing costs, or managing risks. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement practices, cost of goods sold, and supply chain finance, along with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven environment, supporting continued growth across both domestic and international operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certifications are highly desirable.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership roles.
  • Experience in supply chain, or distribution environments strongly preferred
  • Experience within multi-entity and/or acquisition-driven organizations
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
  • Deep expertise in supply chain accounting and cost/margin management
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools

Responsibilities

  • Advise the Fresh leadership team on long-term financial decisions, M&A, and growth strategies.
  • Partner with divisional and executive leadership to provide insights into financial performance and key business drivers
  • Oversee Fresh Division and Brand Controllers, ensuring timely and accurate monthly book closure and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Effective management of operational costs and improvement of profitability.
  • Optimization of Net Working Capital and cash flow.
  • Oversee supply chain accounting, including reconciliation, and controls
  • Manage cost of goods sold (COGS) tracking and analysis across multiple entities
  • Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve margin visibility and cost efficiency
  • Build and enhance scalable financial processes to support financial accuracy, efficiency and business growth
  • Standardize procedures across multiple brands and entities within the Fresh Division
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and data integrity
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls across accounting and financial processes
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Oversee audit requests for the Fresh division and support the consolidated audit process
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and executive leadership
  • Serve as a key partner in integrating newly acquired businesses into BEP’s financial infrastructure
  • Hire, manage, mentor and develop accounting and finance staff.
