About The Position

Influur is building an AI-powered platform called Influur Pulse that enables anyone launching a product, app, website, or brand to reach millions of people through the right creators in under 5 minutes. This platform aims to eliminate the need for agencies and lengthy back-and-forth processes, allowing campaigns to go live with just a prompt. Influur Pulse is already trusted by major music labels like Sony Music and Warner Music Group and is designed for global scalability. The VP of Engineering will be responsible for owning and growing the engineering function behind Pulse. This role requires a hands-on individual who can set the technical vision, drive product development at market speed, and ensure the platform's stability while iterating quickly. The VP will lead a lean engineering team, recruit top talent, and collaborate directly with the Founders to expand Pulse into new markets and verticals. The ideal candidate has experience in early-stage startups, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can bring structure without hindering progress.

Requirements

• Experience building in the AI-native era of engineering.
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of foundational AI models, including understanding the landscape, tradeoffs, and appropriate use cases.
• Lean approach: ability to do more with less, cut non-essential elements, and avoid over-engineering.
• Experience with at least one 0→1 product build and one significant growth phase.
• Strong backend and systems fundamentals, with the ability to delve deep when necessary.
• Ability to quickly understand client pain points and translate them into shipped solutions within a week.
• Low ego, high output.
• Energized by ambiguity and has shipped imperfect products while learning quickly.

Responsibilities

• Ship fast, learn faster: Set the pace for features to go from idea to live in days, fostering a culture where speed is a feature and bets are validated quickly.
• AI-first engineering: Lead by example in leveraging foundational AI models (e.g., GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, Kimi), ensuring the team adopts an AI-native approach to development.
• Technical architecture: Own decisions regarding infrastructure, APIs, and data pipelines to ensure scalability without requiring complete rebuilds.
• Team leadership: Build engineering teams from scratch, including hiring and firing, setting a high bar, and creating an environment for learning and high performance with clarity and trust.
• Product partnership: Collaborate directly with Founders to translate vision into a roadmap, provide technical input, and propose alternative solutions.
• Customer & Product Obsession: Stay close to customers to understand their needs and translate them into shipped products that exceed expectations.
• Reliability that earns trust: Ensure the platform is reliable and functional, meeting the standards expected by clients like Sony Music and WMG, without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
