About The Position

ACS is seeking a strategic, hands-on Vice President of Business Systems & Operational Technology to own and evolve our end-to-end operational systems. This role is for a systems-driven executive who thrives on turning operational complexity into scalable, enforceable workflows, believing that technology should run the business. The VP will ensure systems reflect real-world operations, enforce business rules, eliminate workarounds, and deliver real-time insights to drive smarter decisions across Sales, Operations, and Finance. The work will directly impact scalability, profitability, and operational discipline by translating business strategy into high-performing systems.

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of experience owning and operating enterprise business systems
  • At least 5 years of direct responsibility for enterprise operational platforms and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating CRM, ERP, field execution, finance, and third-party platforms, including working knowledge of APIs, middleware, and data structures.
  • Proven success managing vendors, negotiating contracts, enforcing system standards, and delivering cross-functional solutions.
  • Deep working knowledge of CRM, ERP, workflow automation, and enterprise system integrations.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in field services, construction, distribution, logistics, or similarly complex operational environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting operational systems integrated with large national retailers or similarly complex enterprise partners strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Owning and evolving ACS’s enterprise operational systems to support scale, control, and margin visibility.
  • Embedding business rules, approvals, and accountability directly into systems, not policy.
  • Delivering reliable, real-time operational insights to leadership through reporting, automation, and analytics.
  • Owning ACS’s end-to-end operational platforms, including proprietary systems, Quickbase, CRM/ERP software, and all integrated third-party tools.
  • Serving as the enterprise subject matter expert for operational systems, workflow automation, and operational analytics in a field-based, service-driven environment.
  • Ensuring system integrity, reliability, and scalability to support current operations and future growth.
  • Owning and continuously improving CRM and ERP workflows that support forecasting, operational excellence, and strong returns on investment.
  • Designing systems that support a distributed field workforce, independent contractors, and integrations with major retail and channel partners.
  • Translating operational requirements into scalable system design and automation.
  • Eliminating manual workarounds by embedding real-world processes directly into systems.
  • Enforcing standardized business rules and processes through system logic, approvals, and controls.
  • Ensuring real-time visibility into project status, labor utilization, inventory, and profit margins.
  • Partnering closely with Finance and Operations to ensure data accuracy, accountability, and disciplined execution.
  • Leading vendor strategy across all operational platforms and system integrations.
  • Owning vendor performance, delivery accountability, and contract management.
  • Ensuring integrations are reliable, scalable, and aligned with operational needs.
  • Partnering with IT infrastructure and security teams to ensure operational systems are supported by secure and scalable infrastructure.
  • Overseeing systems that support enterprise reporting across sales, operations, inventory, scheduling, and accounting.
  • Translating operational data into timely, actionable insights to support executive decision-making.
  • Driving automation initiatives that improve throughput, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Serving as the executive counterpart for operational systems across the business.
  • Enforcing process discipline through systems, not policy.
  • Driving system adoption through clear ownership, documentation, training, change management, and accountability.
  • Providing executive oversight and direction for the Director of Business Solutions, Digital Transformation Manager (indirect), Manager of IT Systems, the managed service provider (MSP), and key technology vendors and partners.
