About The Position

2U is looking for a VP, Growth Marketing for edX to expand the marketing organization for one of the world’s leading online learning marketplaces. edX connects millions of learners with courses and programs from universities and industry partners around the world. As we continue evolving the platform and bringing more marketing capabilities in-house, this role will serve as the day-to-day leader of marketing for the edX marketplace. This role will grow platform traffic, increase learner acquisition, and improve acquisition efficiency. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable building and operating at the same time. You need to be a hands-on growth leader who can evolve the growth model for the platform, build the in-house team, and scale the channels that drive learner demand.

Requirements

  • Marketing leader who is comfortable building an internal function and operating it day-to-day
  • 10+ years of experience in growth, performance marketing, or digital marketing leadership
  • Experience leading growth for an international consumer marketplace, digital platform, or large-scale content site
  • Demonstrated success driving organic traffic growth and customer acquisition at scale
  • Deep experience with SEO, organic discovery, and performance marketing channels
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and acquisition efficiency (CAC)
  • Experience building and scaling high-performing marketing teams

  • Available to come into our Headquarters in Arlington, VA two days a week

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day marketing strategy and execution for the edX platform
  • Drive growth in platform traffic, learner acquisition, and conversion
  • Build the internal marketing capability for the platform
  • Define the team structure and partner with CMO in hiring key roles
  • Lead SEO and organic discovery strategy for the platform
  • Manage the annual paid media budget focused on efficient learner acquisition
  • Establish lifecycle marketing programs that move learners from discovery to enrollment
  • Partner with product and analytics teams to drive experimentation and performance measurement.
