About The Position

Illumio is seeking a Vice President, Global Talent Acquisition to lead and evolve our end-to-end hiring strategy as we continue to scale the world’s leading breach containment company. This leader will own our global recruiting strategy and execution across Engineering, Product, Go-To-Market, and General & Administrative functions—ensuring Illumio attracts, assesses, and hires exceptional talent with speed, quality, and rigor. This role is both strategic and hands-on: shaping multi-year workforce plans while personally driving outcomes on mission-critical executive and technical hires. This leader will be a trusted partner to the Executive Team, a critical member of the People Senior Leadership Team (PSLT), and a key architect of Illumio’s public-company-ready talent engine.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive talent acquisition leadership experience.
  • Proven success scaling Talent Acquisition in high-growth software-as-a-service, cybersecurity, or technology companies.
  • Deep experience hiring across Engineering, Go-To-Market, and Executive roles.
  • Strong executive presence and senior voice, business acumen, and data-driven decision-making capability.
  • Experience leading distributed, global teams.
  • Strategic, pragmatic, and outcomes-driven.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and rapid change.
  • High judgment, integrity, and builder mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Chief People Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Team to translate Illumio’s business strategy and Annual Operating Plan into a multi-year global hiring plan aligned to growth, product roadmap, and geographic expansion.
  • Lead Strategic Talent Planning to identify mission-critical roles, succession risk, and future capability gaps.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Compensation colleagues on the PSLT to advise executives and hiring managers on talent strategy, geographic location approach, and evolving talent market dynamics.
  • Own hiring outcomes across Engineering, Product, Security, Cloud, Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, General & Administrative, and Executive leadership roles.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality hiring practices across the United States, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific (APAC), and Japan.
  • Personally lead or quarterback select Vice President-level and above searches and/or partner with executive search firms as needed.
  • Lead and develop our high-performing global Talent Acquisition organization.
  • Own Talent Acquisition systems and analytics, including Ashby, with accountability for time-to-fill, offer acceptance, and a defined quality-of-hire scorecard (e.g., 6–12-month performance signal, retention, and hiring-manager satisfaction).
  • Lead the roadmap for forward-leaning, talent-related artificial intelligence (AI) and automation to improve hiring speed, consistency, decision quality, and hiring manager and candidate experience. Partner with colleagues on their AI initiatives.
  • Strengthen Illumio’s employer brand to compete for top-tier talent in the Bay Area and around the world.
  • Deliver a best-in-class candidate experience aligned with Illumio’s values and culture.
  • Ensure recruiting processes meet public-company standards for consistency, documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, People Operations, and Immigration teams to manage risk while maintaining hiring velocity.
