About The Position

Tensec is seeking a VP Global Operations to build and scale the company's operational infrastructure as it expands from three markets to many, including Asia and the EU. This role is crucial for developing the proprietary orchestration layer for treasury backend, managing vendor networks, and overseeing the US market buildout. The position also involves advising on compliance and legal requirements, and building the legal infrastructure for the company. The ideal candidate is a proactive builder, intellectually honest, curious, and comfortable with ambiguity, with a strong ability to build institutional infrastructure for scale.

Requirements

  • A builder, energized by the absence of a playbook.
  • Intellectually honest and relentlessly curious.
  • High agency; takes ownership of outcomes, not just tasks.
  • Comfortable in ambiguity at scale.
  • A natural institutional builder, thinking about future complexity.
  • Experience in a large institution and understanding of why an equity trajectory is valuable.
  • Experience building operational infrastructure for scale.
  • Understanding of treasury backend infrastructure and orchestration layers.
  • Knowledge of US market entry requirements, including regulatory, banking, and operational dependencies.
  • Familiarity with AI governance requirements in financial services.
  • Understanding of BSA/AML, FinCEN, OFAC, and sanctions regulations.
  • Experience managing legal affairs, including corporate, contractual, marketing, regulatory, and risk matters.
  • Experience directing and coordinating legal networks.
  • Experience managing MTL obligations.
  • Experience leading legal review on client agreements, vendor contracts, and external partnerships.
  • Experience building legal infrastructure (templates, playbooks, review processes).
  • Experience serving as an internal legal resource for People & HR matters.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day operational, legal, and cross-functional questions from the CMO, CPO, and senior layers under country management teams.
  • Advise the product team on operational and legal requirements for the client onboarding experience, coordinating legal review and ensuring backend operations can deliver on frontend promises.
  • Ensure the operations organization provides the support the PMO function requires to execute cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ensure operational tools are deployed responsibly and AI-generated outputs are used appropriately across client-facing and internal workflows.
  • Build the proprietary orchestration layer that sits above existing vendor infrastructure for treasury backend.
  • Manage and expand the vendor network, evaluating, negotiating, and onboarding new partners.
  • Work with engineering and product to develop and continuously improve treasury orchestration technology.
  • Work closely with treasury and finance teams to ensure the operational and technical foundation serves their needs.
  • Advise on requirements for the risk framework governing treasury operations.
  • Ensure the treasury infrastructure is legally sound across all operating jurisdictions.
  • Own the operational and legal groundwork for existing licenses and partnerships, and US market entry.
  • Identify and manage regulatory, banking, and operational dependencies for a clean and defensible US launch.
  • Hire and lead the US operations lead as the US ops function formalizes.
  • Monitor and advise on AI governance requirements for US operations and ensure market entry accounts for emerging AI transparency and accountability obligations.
  • Inform the CCO organization on US and cross-jurisdictional legal requirements affecting compliance program structure.
  • Advise strategically on compliance program design across markets, translating regulatory developments into actionable guidance.
  • Serve as Tensec's primary internal legal voice across all US matters: corporate, contractual, marketing, regulatory, and risk.
  • Direct and coordinate the existing legal network.
  • Manage MTL obligations and monitor the regulatory landscape for new corridors.
  • Lead legal review on all client agreements, vendor contracts, and external partnerships.
  • Build the legal infrastructure, including templates, playbooks, and review processes.
  • Serve as the internal legal resource for all People & HR matters across all three jurisdictions.
