VP & General Manager (1956)

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions

About The Position

As VP & General Manager of Kooner Mobile Auto Care, you are the architect of a brand-new business within an established company. This isn't a role where you inherit a playbook – you write it. You'll take Kooner's decade of operational expertise, its national infrastructure, and its hard-earned reputation and channel all of it into building a consumer business from the ground up. You own the P&L. You set the vision. You build the team, shape the brand, and drive the growth, with direct accountability to senior leadership and a mandate to scale. But beyond the metrics and milestones, this role is about entrepreneurial leadership in the truest sense, making decisions with incomplete information, moving fast without sacrificing quality, and building something that didn't exist before you walked in the door. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role with direct influence over the future direction of Kooner Mobile Auto Care. The consumer segment will become a defining part of the company's next chapter, and you'll be the one who builds it.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 3–5 years in a GM, VP or similar leadership role
  • Proven track record of building and scaling a consumer-facing business; startup, division launch, or turnaround experience strongly preferred
  • Automotive industry experience is required; a background in dealership operations, fixed ops, or dealer group leadership is strongly preferred and will be weighted heavily in the selection process
  • An established network within the automotive industry and the willingness to leverage it, whether that means bringing relationships with dealer groups, service partners, or a loyal customer base, we expect this person to hit the ground running, not starting from zero
  • Commercially sharp: you know how to find customers, keep them, and build a business model that works
  • Operator at heart with the strategic range to see around corners and the execution discipline to follow through
  • Strong financial acumen; comfortable owning a P&L, building a budget, and making data-informed decisions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; you don't wait for the playbook, you write it
  • Strong people leader who attracts talent, develops teams, and builds culture deliberately
  • Excellent communicator who can align internal stakeholders and represent the brand externally with credibility
  • Bachelor's degree required

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree a plus

Responsibilities

  • P&L Ownership: Full responsibility for revenue, margin, and unit economics across the consumer segment. Set financial targets, build and manage the budget, and deliver profitable growth quarter over quarter. Report directly to senior leadership with full visibility into performance and a seat at the table when it matters.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Define how Kooner enters and expands in consumer markets, pricing architecture, service packaging, and geographic sequencing. Determine which acquisition channels to bet on, pressure-test assumptions quickly, and double down on what works. Build a repeatable growth model that can scale across new markets without losing quality or margins.
  • Brand & Customer Experience: Own the consumer brand from the ground up, how it looks, sounds, and feels at every touchpoint. Set the standard for what a Kooner consumer experience means, from first booking to fifth visit. Build the systems and feedback loops that ensure consistency as the business scales.
  • Team Building & Org Design: Identify key hires, make the business case for headcount, and recruit people motivated to build, not just manage. Design the org structure for the consumer division as it grows from zero to scale. Foster a culture that reflects Kooner's family-first values while moving with startup urgency.
  • Operational Buildout: Design the end-to-end service delivery model; scheduling, dispatch, technician standards, quality control, and customer communication. Adapt existing infrastructure where it fits; build new processes where it doesn't. Keep scalability front of mind, every system you build should work at 10x volume.
  • Customer Retention & Loyalty: Own the strategy for turning first-time customers into regulars. Develop service plans, communication cadences, and loyalty incentives that drive repeat business. Define and track the metrics that matter; retention rate, lifetime value, NPS, and churn.
  • Technology & Tools: Partner with product and tech stakeholders to shape the digital experience; booking, payment, service history, and reminders. Advocate internally for the consumer customer and influence the product roadmap accordingly. Identify gaps in current tooling and drive solutions that improve both the customer and technician experience.
  • Partnerships & Growth Channels: Leverage existing relationships and cultivate those relationships to accelerate consumer growth; insurance partners, dealerships, employers, apartment communities, and beyond. Explore fleet-to-consumer crossover opportunities that leverage Kooner's existing national footprint. Think creatively about where the next 10,000 customers are coming from and build the channels to reach them.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning: Stay sharp on competitor moves, market shifts, and evolving consumer expectations. Use those insights to keep Kooner's offering ahead of the curve, anticipating the market, not reacting to it. Feed learnings back into strategy, pricing, and product decisions on a continuous basis.
