About The Position

Rewind is seeking a senior finance leader to take ownership and evolve the company's entire finance function, encompassing accounting, financial planning, and controller responsibilities. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, demanding a strong accounting background, operational capability, and the ability to provide clear, data-driven insights to guide the business. The position is a hands-on builder role where the individual will shape the finance strategy while also performing core accounting and controller duties. This includes tasks ranging from Board reporting and financial modeling to processing payroll and managing the month-end close. The VP will collaborate closely with the executive team, particularly the CEO and CRO, to ensure Rewind scales with financial clarity, discipline, and confidence.

Requirements

  • Experience in a venture-backed or scaling SaaS company
  • CPA designation (or equivalent) with 10+ years of progressive experience across accounting and finance
  • Early-career foundation in accounting (e.g., audit, controllership) with a transition into broader finance leadership
  • Experience owning both accounting operations and FP&A in a high-growth SaaS or tech environment
  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, revenue recognition, and financial best practices
  • Proficiency using AI tools to streamline and enhance financial modelling, reporting and workflows
  • Comfort operating as a hands-on leader, including stepping into payroll, reporting, or operational tasks when needed
  • Proven ability to build, improve, and scale financial processes and systems
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights
  • Experience with modern finance tools (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Stripe, Carta, QuickBooks Online)

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to international finance operations and multi-entity structures
  • Experience managing or implementing financial systems and automation initiatives
  • Familiarity with BI or dashboarding tools (e.g., Metabase, Looker, Tableau)
  • Experience supporting board reporting and investor relations

Responsibilities

  • Own company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and performance tracking, including SaaS metrics and operating models
  • Partner with leadership to guide investment decisions, pricing strategy, and growth planning
  • Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to executives, board members, and investors
  • Support strategic finance work including scenario planning and executive-level analysis
  • Oversee and continuously improve the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
  • Maintain high-quality financial reporting and variance analysis to support decision-making
  • Step into hands-on accounting work where needed, ensuring no gaps in execution as the team scales
  • Own all core accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, treasury, and general ledger management
  • Lead audits, tax filings, and compliance across jurisdictions, including SR&ED and international subsidiaries
  • Manage equity administration (e.g., Carta), ensuring accurate cap table and regulatory compliance
  • Strengthen internal controls and financial processes to safeguard company assets and support scale
  • Oversee vendor relationships, banking, insurance programs, and external partners (auditors, consultants)
  • Build and evolve systems, tooling, and workflows to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility
  • Oversee the stock option/equity program and management of the cap table
  • Use Agentic AI to automate key processes such as: accounts receivable, month-end close, and financial package preparation
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, setting a high bar for accountability and performance
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration
