About The Position

As Vice President, Enterprise Security, you will lead the enterprise cybersecurity strategy for IHG, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company, guest, and employee information. This role owns global security governance, risk management, and protection capabilities across the organization. You will partner closely with technology, legal, privacy, and business leaders to embed security into business operations, maintain regulatory compliance, and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate evolving cyber threats. Through strong leadership and influence, you will guide teams and stakeholders to deliver secure‑by‑design solutions that support IHG’s strategic priorities and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; advanced degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, information security, privacy, risk management, or audit, including senior leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading high‑performing global security teams and managing third‑party security providers.
  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity governance, risk, compliance, and industry best practices across complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to communicate and influence effectively with executives, technical teams, and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of technology platforms, networks, identity, data protection, regulatory requirements, and incident response.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of IHG’s enterprise information security strategy, policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Direct ongoing cybersecurity risk assessments, third‑party risk management, and remediation activities to reduce enterprise risk exposure.
  • Oversee security engineering, identity and access management, data protection, vulnerability management, and incident response alignment across platforms and services.
  • Monitor emerging threats, technology trends, and regulatory requirements, adjusting security programs and roadmaps as needed.
  • Provide executive‑level reporting on cybersecurity risk, incidents, and compliance to senior leadership and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Respond to and oversee investigations of information security incidents, coordinating with internal teams, external vendors, and law enforcement when required.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a global security organization and managed service partners, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
