About The Position

The Vice President, Enterprise Data & Analytics leads the Credit Union’s enterprise-wide data and analytics organization and is accountable for transforming governed, trusted data into actionable business insight aligned with strategic objectives. This role establishes the strategic direction, operating model, and success metrics for two core functions: Business Analytics and Data Management, Governance & Enablement. Working closely with executive leadership and business partners across Operations, Lending, Finance, Marketing, Retail Delivery, and other departments, the VP ensures that enterprise data assets are trusted, accessible, secure, and leveraged to drive informed decision-making. The VP serves as the Credit Union’s senior leader for data strategy, analytics, governance, and modern data platform enablement. The role is responsible for advancing organizational data maturity, establishing a data-driven culture, maturing governance practices, and maximizing business value through analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressively responsible experience in data, analytics, business intelligence, information management, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of leadership experience managing managers, senior leaders, and professional teams.
  • Experience leading enterprise data strategy, governance, analytics, and modern data platform initiatives required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise data management, governance, quality, metadata, and master data management practices.
  • Strong understanding of modern data platform architecture, including cloud-based data platforms and lakehouse technologies.
  • Experience leading analytics, business intelligence, predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of financial services operations, products, and member engagement strategies.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements impacting enterprise data management.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data concepts into business-focused recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Credit Union’s multi-year enterprise data and analytics strategy, roadmap, and performance objectives.
  • Advance organizational data maturity through improved governance, quality, accessibility, analytics adoption, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify emerging regulatory, industry, and technology trends and align data and analytics capabilities with evolving business needs.
  • Establish investment priorities and strategic direction for the enterprise modern data platform, analytics tools, and business intelligence ecosystem.
  • Champion enterprise-wide data literacy, stewardship, and ownership across business and operational functions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and opportunities to enhance organizational capabilities through data, analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Partner with Technology leadership to ensure alignment between data architecture, infrastructure strategy, and enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Direct the Business Analytics function in delivering advanced analytics, predictive modeling, artificial intelligence solutions, member insights, profitability analysis, and strategic reporting.
  • Develop and maintain a proactive analytics agenda that identifies opportunities to improve business performance, member experience, operational efficiency, and growth.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities and ensure analytics solutions support organizational objectives.
  • Oversee enterprise reporting, dashboards, scorecards, and self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure the integration of data across multiple platforms to provide a comprehensive understanding of member relationships and organizational performance.
  • Partner with Marketing leadership to develop and optimize member intelligence, segmentation strategies, and targeted engagement programs.
  • Oversee incentive reporting, performance measurement programs, and analytical support for organizational performance management.
  • Direct advanced portfolio, risk, profitability, competitive, and strategic analyses supporting executive decision-making, product development, and merger evaluations.
  • Develop the intelligence layer in the “customer data profile” (CDP) that guides automated contact decisions across various digital marketing channels and staff outreach.
  • Maintain executive accountability for enterprise data governance policies, standards, and practices.
  • Establish and chair the Data Governance Council and related governance forums.
  • Lead the ongoing maturity and effectiveness of enterprise data governance capabilities.
  • Oversee enterprise data quality, master data management, metadata management, and data catalog initiatives.
  • Establish standards that ensure data remains accurate, trusted, consistent, secure, and accessible.
  • Provide strategic oversight of the Credit Union’s modern data platform and associated data architecture capabilities.
  • Partner with Information Security, Infrastructure Services, Risk Management, and Compliance teams to support privacy, security, regulatory, audit, and compliance objectives.
  • Ensure enterprise data assets are managed in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing enterprise data and analytics organization.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top talent across analytics, governance, data engineering, and business intelligence functions.
  • Directly lead and develop department leaders, including the VP, Business Analytics and AVP, Data Enablement & Governance.
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
  • Establish clear objectives and performance expectations while empowering leaders and teams to execute effectively.
  • Foster an environment of psychological safety where employees are encouraged to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and continuously improve.
  • Serve as the primary enterprise advisor on data strategy, analytics, governance, and information management.
  • Partner with executive leadership, business units, and governance bodies to align priorities and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Translate business challenges into data-driven solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Represent the Credit Union in enterprise initiatives, technology evaluations, vendor relationships, and strategic decision-making activities.
  • Ensure executive and ad hoc analytical requests are addressed with timely, accurate, and actionable insights.
  • Communicate complex analytical concepts and recommendations to executive, operational, and board-level audiences.
