About The Position

The Data Analytics Lead Analyst is a senior, high-visibility role within the Global Reconciliations organization, responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and enhancing critical Finance and Risk reconciliation controls across the bank. This position ensures data integrity, regulatory compliance, and financial accuracy by investigating reconciliation variances across Trades, Positions, and Contracts spanning asset classes including Derivatives, Securities, Loans, Deposits, and Commodities. The role requires a strong command of capital markets products, trade lifecycle processes, and Finance and Risk data flows, combined with the ability to leverage advanced analytics to drive strategic remediation and executive-level governance. Working cross-functionally with Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology, and Front Office teams, the successful candidate will play an essential role in strengthening the firm's control environment and reducing operational and regulatory risk.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in controls, reconciliations, and data analytical work within Finance and Risk environments.
  • Strong understanding of Finance and Risk reconciliation processes, including multi-way reconciliation methodologies and exception management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of capital markets products and trade lifecycle processes across asset classes including Derivatives, Securities, Loans, Deposits, and Commodities.
  • Hands-on experience with reconciliation platforms and data analytics tools in a large financial institution environment.
  • Unix/Linux experience for data extraction, scripting, and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to interpret complex, large-scale datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology, and Front Office functions.
  • Excellent executive presentation and written communication skills, with experience delivering findings to governance committees and senior leadership.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to drive consensus and manage competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and investigation of daily Finance and Risk reconciliation results across multiple source and downstream systems.
  • Monitor and assess multi-way reconciliations involving Trades, Positions, Contracts, and financial balances.
  • Perform detailed break investigation, exception management, and root cause analysis to identify sources of discrepancies.
  • Develop break categorizations and trend analyses to provide actionable insights into data quality and control effectiveness.
  • Identify recurring reconciliation issues and drive long-term strategic remediation plans.
  • Design and build reconciliations between the Olympus wholesale data redistribution platform and key Finance and Risk platforms, including General Ledger, Liquidity Systems, and Risk Systems.
  • Support the implementation of new reconciliation controls associated with major regulatory and governance programs, including Consent Order deliverables and ECB requirements for CGME/EUC entities.
  • Utilize Unix-based environments and proprietary reconciliation platforms to perform data extraction, validation, and analytical processes across large and complex datasets.
  • Partner with Technology teams and source system subject matter experts to resolve data quality issues and support enhancements to existing reconciliation frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology, and Data Management teams to investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Lead stakeholder discussions, facilitate issue resolution forums, and drive remediation actions to completion.
  • Develop executive dashboards and management reports that communicate reconciliation health indicators, break trends, risk and financial impacts, and remediation progress.
  • Organize and host monthly Governance and Operating Committee forums to present findings and advance continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish best practices for reconciliation analytics, monitoring, and governance across the organization.
