About The Position
SharkNinja is seeking a VP of Embedded Software to lead the global organization responsible for firmware, device software, and controls engineering. This high-impact role involves shaping the development of connected products at scale for a world-class consumer electronics company. The VP will lead teams across the US, China, and other regions, collaborating with Hardware, Advanced Development, and Controls departments to ensure best-in-class embedded engineering in all shipped products.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and leading embedded or firmware engineering organizations at scale, globally.
- Deep embedded systems expertise, including RTOS, firmware lifecycle, and device controls architecture.
- A track record of scaling embedded QA and automated testing.
- Experience leading distributed teams across regions, including Asia-based organizations.
- Strong systems thinking abilities to define and enforce integration frameworks across hardware/firmware/software boundaries.
- Executive-level communication skills, capable of translating technical complexity into clear strategy for both engineering and business audiences.
Nice To Haves
- Consumer electronics, IoT, or connected product background.
- Familiarity with BLE/Wi-Fi connectivity and device-to-cloud patterns.
- Experience with HIL testing, CI/CD for firmware, or embedded QA infrastructure.
- Exposure to controls engineering and bridging it with software workflows.
- Experience managing vendor or offshore development relationships with accountability for quality.
Responsibilities
- Set the vision and run the global embedded software organization.
- Build and develop a global team of engineers, tech leads, and managers.
- Define engineering practices, tooling, and quality frameworks for real-time and embedded systems.
- Drive alignment between firmware, software, and controls disciplines.
- Oversee quality and execution across the device software portfolio, including QA and test automation.
- Communicate strategy, tradeoffs, and progress to executive leadership and cross-functional partners.
