About The Position

The Vice President of Cyber Security is a senior enterprise leader responsible for defining and executing the cybersecurity strategy that protects MGM Resorts International’s global operations, digital ecosystem, and technology infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), this executive leads Security Operations, Threat Exposure Management, and Secure Software Delivery, overseeing enterprise threat detection, incident response, vulnerability reduction, and defense against increasingly sophisticated automated and AI-enabled threats. The Vice President also owns the security and resilience of the software delivery ecosystem, partnering closely with Engineering, Architecture, Risk, and IT leadership to shape strategic technology roadmaps, strengthen cyber resilience, reduce enterprise risk, and ensure the security of the technology platforms that enable MGM Resorts’ business and digital guest experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • 6+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience within organizations of comparable size, complexity, and mission
  • Demonstrated success managing security events, incidents, alerts, and emerging threats, with familiarity with cybersecurity legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong technical knowledge across software engineering, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, modern development environments, threat intelligence, adversary TTPs, AI-enabled threats, Zero Trust, workload identity, and defense-in-depth.
  • Proven ability to establish performance metrics, drive continuous improvement, manage budgets, negotiate vendors, and optimize cybersecurity investments and ROI.
  • Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder influence, talent development, and crisis decision-making skills, with the ability to translate complex technical risk into clear business decisions.

  • CISSP, GCIH, GIAC, ISC2, or ISACA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead crisis response, digital forensics, and recovery across cloud, on-premises, and gaming environments.
  • Direct advanced detection, automated response, and AI-driven security operations to counter emerging threats.
  • Drive continuous asset visibility, vulnerability prioritization, and threat-informed remediation across the enterprise.
  • Continuously test and validate defenses through automated adversary simulations and proactive security assessments.
  • Own the security of CI/CD pipelines, development environments, artifact repositories, software provenance, SBOMs, and third-party dependencies.
  • Embed automated code security, secrets protection, AI development guardrails, and Zero Trust controls across technology platforms.
  • Define cybersecurity roadmaps, drive team and vendor accountability, optimize investments, and lead high-performing organizations and multi-million-dollar budgets.
